SHAUNS is a California based design label founded by Shaun Paterson in 2011. Seeking to redefine California style while challenging the notion of what luxury should really stand for. All of our products are designed in California and produced in family-owned workshops in Italy and Japan.
SHAUNS aims to celebrate the human capacity in every aspect, from the artisanal way each product is produced, to a deeply rooted social mission that allows Shauns to help mobilize the visually impaired, one pair of glasses at a time. Our philosophy is called "Soulful Luxury."
In 1849, the Mazzucchelli family based in Italy invented a high quality plastic known as cellulose acetate. The material is a hypoallergenic natural based resin composed of more than 70% cotton fibers that create the unique combination of a soft, ultra-comfortable feel and the aesthetic beauty we require of our frames.
We exclusively use acetate produced at the original factory in the Italian countryside.

Each pair of SHAUNS are handcrafted with passion in partnership with some of the finest eyewear factories in the world. Specifically in Northern Italy and Japan. This short film explores our full manufacturing process and the attention to detail found on every SHAUNS frame.
SHAUNS introduces a new lens technology for all their solid tints called Polar Optimized. The lens features a polarized filter that eliminates glare and is optimized to view LCD screens in full sun without distortion. This technique not only enhances visibility and contrast but also gives you greater comfort and safety. While maintaining dependable eye protection, the beautiful range of colors ensure superior optical performance at the highest quality.
